January 25, (THEWILL) – Lionel Messi is reportedly weighing his options regarding his future at Paris Saint-Germain, especially with discussions about his next move rife in the media.

The 35-year-old’s contract with the French club is set to expire at the end of the current season, and it appears that he may be unwilling to sign an extension. This news comes as a surprise to PSG, as they were previously confident that Messi would extend his stay in the French capital.

It seems that Argentina’s recent World Cup victory may have played a role in Messi’s decision-making process. Reports monitored by THEWILL in Spain suggest that the prospect of winning more titles in France or even another UEFA Champions League may not be enough to motivate Messi to stay with PSG. As such, Barcelona has emerged as the front-runner to sign the star player.

However, for Messi’s return to Barcelona to be possible, it is believed that he would need to agree to a significant reduction in his salary, in order to accommodate the current financial situation at the club.

Additionally, other clubs such as Inter Miami, Newell’s Old Boys, and even Al-Hilal have also expressed interest in signing the 35-year-old star. As of now, it remains to be seen where Messi’s future lies.
