We’ll Prioritise Giving Our People Dignified Representation – Thomas Andrew

May 30, (THEWILL) – Thomas Andrew, an aspirant for the Akpabuyo, Bakassi and Calabar South Federal Constituency Seat, says his priority is to give his constituents a dignified representation.

Mr Andrew, who is aspiring under the African Democratic Congress, disclosed this in Calabar during an interactive session with the media.

The Houston based Hearings Officer, said the people of ABC Constituency deserve to have a sense of dignity and enjoy the real dividends of democracy.

“It will be a priority that everybody will grow with me.

“People deserve much more than condolence visits, naming ceremony visits, people should have a sense of dignity and enjoy the real dividends of democracy.

“We will prioritise giving our people dignified representation and ensuring our teeming youths are meaningfully engaged”, he said.

He said the way the federal system works, you will feel left out if you don’t have a strong advocate.

He pledged to stand for his people and passionately advocate for their rights.

“I believe the way the federal system is set up, if you don’t have a strong advocate, you will always feel left out.

“I have worked with legislators from other states and they passionately advocate for the rights of their constituents.

“What is due to the ABC Constituency, if I have to clash with people to get it, I will do it because that is why they employed me”, he said.

He promised that his doors and books will always be open and whatever comes in will be made transparent.

Also speaking, the State Chairman of the ADC, Effiong Nyong, said they have identified the issues, gaps and lack the people of ABC Constituency are grappling with.

He said the people are yearning to see the change, feel the difference in governance and the ADC is ready to provide this.
