We Will Return – Mbappe

December 19, (THEWILL) – After France’s defeat to Argentina in the World Cup final on Sunday, in Qatar, Kylian Mbappe has endeavoured to inspire millions of the country’s fans.

In a thrilling 120 minutes of World Cup final football, Mbappe scored a hat-trick as France fought back to a 3-3 after a Lionel Messi brace and Angel Di Maria had put Argentina in front. The South American champions still prevailed 4-2 in the ensuing penalty shootouts.

Mbappe, who received the Golden Boot award for outscoring everyone in the competition with a total of 8 goals, had a message of encouragement in a tweet he put out on Monday, where he wrote: “We will return.”

Injuries to key players: Paul Pogba, Ngolo Kante, Karim Benzema, and Presnel Kimpembe, did not help the French in defending the title they won in Russia four years ago.

However, Argentina, who won their last World Cup title 36 years ago, led by the legendary Diego Maradona, foiled the French’s attempt to take the trophy for the consecutive time and helped captain Lionel Messi win the only competition that had eluded him so far.
