Wasteful Leicester Climb To 19th After Goalless Draw Against Palace

October 15, (THEWILL) – With just one victory from their first 10 games, Leicester lost the chance to move out of the Premier League’s relegation zone after a painful 0-0 stalemate with Crystal Palace.

James Maddison, Patson Daka, Harvey Barnes, and Kieran Dewsbury-Hall all missed beautiful opportunities to give Brendan Rodgers’ Foxes the best chance to win, but there was no solace for their under-fire manager in a contest devoid of any attacking quality.

It was made even less entertaining by the quality, or lack thereof, of Crystal Palace. In their search for their first away victory of the year, which would have sent Patrick Vieira’s team into the top half, Palace would manage just one shot on goal in the entire 90 minutes of football when Odsonne Edouard fired at goal and forced a fine save from Leicester goalkeeper Danny Ward in the 62nd minute.

The point moves Leicester up to position 19 in the standings with five points, but the Foxes will be left with regret. Palace rises to 13th place with their new 10-point total.

On Thursday, Leicester will host Leeds United in another critical Premier League game. As for Palace, they are back in action in Tuesday’s match at Selhurst Park against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
