October 1, (THEWILL) – In a nail-biting Premier League match against Liverpool at Anfield, Leandro Trossard scored a hat-trick to earn Brighton and Hove Albion a 3-3 draw.
It was the first game for Brighton under new head coach Roberto De Zerbi, Trossard’s two goals in the first 17 minutes gave the visitors the lead. But, before the interval, Roberto Firmino began a comeback, which the Brazilian striker continued by levelling the scores early in the second half of a thrilling Premier League match.
Adam Webster’s own goal gave Liverpool the lead for the first time, but with seven minutes left in regulation, Trossard scored his third goal to give Brighton a well-earned point at the Anfield grounds of Jurgen Klopp’s side.
The exceptional Trossard joined Peter Ndlovu and Andrey Arshavin as the only other opponents to score a hat-trick in the Premier League at Anfield. He has already scored five goals in seven Premier League games this year.
Brighton’s next task is to continue their impressive displays with a trip to Tottenham on Saturday, while Liverpool’s next game is with Rangers in an all-British UEFA Champions League duel on Tuesday at Anfield.
