April 21, (THEWILL) – Arising from urgent need to coordinate the pre-nomination processes for his Presidential Project for 2023, the incumbent Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Udom Emmanuel, has appointed some persons into critical offices, to deliver on his mandate.
Those appointed include: HE Sen Dr Gabriel Suswam, as the Chairman, Campaign Council.
HE Col. Habibu Shuaibu (Rtd), as Director General of the campaign organisation and Bola Bolawole as campaign Spokesperson.
Sen. Suswam is a former Governor of Benue State, Former Member of the House of Representatives and a Serving Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Col. Shuaibu (Rtd), is a former Governor of Plateau and Niger states and a former Chief of Staff to General Ibrahim Babangida. He is a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party and was a Governorship Aspirant in Kano state in 2011.
Bola Bolawole holds a Masters degree in Political Science from the University of Ibadan and worked in Punch newspapers as an Editor, Chairman of the Editorial Board and Deputy Editor-in -Chief. He has 37 unbroken years of stellar journalism practice.
According to a release to this effect endorsed by the state Commissioner for information and strategy, comrade Ini Ememobong, the campaign organisation expects the full deployment of the huge capacity, contacts and expertise of the appointees to the attainment of success in the project.
Comrade Ini Ememobong doubles as the protem Director, External Communications in the project.
THEWILL recalls that Brekete Family, a reality television and radio programme focusing on human rights issues, had recently purchased the 2023 presidential nomination form of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Udom Emmanuel, calling on him to run for the office of the president of the country, to replicate his unprecedented achievements in the state at the national level.
Governor Emmanuel, who accepted the offer had since started consultations with relevant stakeholders in the country, including: the two former Military Administrators alive; General Ibrahim Babangida and General Abdusalami Abubakar respectively.
