BEVERLY HILLS, May 13, (THEWILL) – The time has come for Kano Pillars Football Club to unleash their star player and Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, who is expected to make his second debut for the club in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) against Adamawa United, in the league on Sunday.

THEWILL recalls that the marquee signing returned to the domestic competition by agreeing to a high-profile proposal from the State governor and the league management on an agreement to join the club in April, in a short-term deal that will keep him until the end of the current NPFL season.

Ibrahim Musa, the team coach, on a radio interview, expressed his optimism for the club going forward due to the positive difference in his team as a direct result of the influence of the well-decorated Super Eagles’ captain, who had been a strong motivation to other players since joining them.

The coach said of the captain: “He’s motivating the team generally, everything we do, everything we talk to the players to do, he is ready to do and even the first to do it. He is ready to cooperate always and he concentrates so well. So my expectation whenever he starts you will see a new Kano Pillars.”

As his contribution to the development of sports back home and to nurture grassroots football, Musa had previously built two training and fitness facilities as a foreign-based football who did not forget where it all began, when the 18 goals he scored for Kano Pillars helped him finish as top scorer in the 2009/10 season of the NPFL.

Musa, who made his 96th appearance for Nigeria in their 3-0 win over Lesotho in Lagos in the Super Eagles final Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, helped the Super Eagles win the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations and played for them in the past two World Cups, scoring each time.

He scored twice for Nigeria at the 2014 and 2018 FIFA World Cup tournaments to become the country’s top World Cup goalscorer of all time.
