February 03, (THEWILL) – The Sultan of Sokoto and President General, Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Sa’ad Muhammadu Abubakar III, has tasked members of the Muslim Lawyers Association of Nigeria (MULAN), on the need to be dedicated in their deeds.

Abubakar gave the charge while addressing the executives and members of the Association, who paid him a courtesy visit in Sokoto.

He said that it was their obligation as Muslims, to lead by example in carrying out their duties.

“Our religion is always pointing out the need to be patient and dedicated toward carrying out our daily activities.

“Islam demands all of you to lead by example in your behaviour and working carrier.

“So, you must always do the best you can do in order not to allow other people to be calling your names that you are Muslims but see how they behave,” he said.

The Monarch also tasked Muslim lawyers to find ways of generating money and not to rely on support to carry out their activities.

He, however, commended the association for strengthening the bond of their relationship and brotherhood, urging them to sustain the tempo.

Earlier, MULAN National President, Dr. Kazeem Olaniyan, appealed for more involvement in the activities of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs.

According to Olaniyan, their members were not involved in the activities of the council.

“And we have well-trained lawyers. We have Senior Advocates and professors among us.

“We are pleading with the Sultan to ensure our regular involvement in the activities of the Council.

“We are always ready for your call and invitation to carry out any assignment in the cause of Islam,” he said

He also explained that they were in Sokoto to conduct their National Executive Council meeting on Saturday and their members came from different parts of the country to attend the programme.

He thanked the monarch for his sustained support of the association, recalling that he personally attended their previous NEC meetings.
