BEVERLY HILLS, March 21, (THEWILL) – Popular Nigerian music producer, Samuel Oguachuba, better known as Samklef, has apologised to popular singer, Simi, and women generally for a statement regarded as rather objectifying of a female musician, Tems, featured in a Wizkid video.
Samklef’s words had sparked backlash on Twitter and Simi tweeted, “WTF is wrong with you?”
Initially unrepentant, Samklef has now taken to his social media account to make an apology video.
He said, “Hello everybody! My name is Samuel Oguachuba, aka Samklef. I am doing this video because I really want to apologise to the women out there based on my statement last week. I really apologise for what I said; and to Simi, I really apologise to you too.
“I wish you all the best in life. I am not perfect and I have my emotions too. I am not justifying my actions but I just want to say that I am sorry to everybody for my statement when I said women raised by single women are toxic. I really apologise for that statement and I want you guys to forgive me for my words.”
THEWILL had reported how Grammy award winner, Wizkid, shared a snippet of himself and Tems on set for the visual for the song, “Essence.”
This generated various reactions on Twitter.
