October 13, (THEWILL) – Bukayo Saka’s opportunistic first-half goal secured Arsenal a 1-0 away victory over Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League, giving them their sixth consecutive victory in all competitions, as they continue their strong start to the season.
The England international received the ball in a favourable shooting position as a result of a deft move, and his deflected shot found the back of the net off the body of the 21-year-old forward.
In the second half, Bodo made an effort to tie the score, but Matt Turner ensured that nothing soiled his clean sheet on the day and the Gunners were able to hang on for the victory, with a few substitutions to secure the win.
The team led by Mikel Arteta increased their winning streak to six games in a row in all competitions to maintain their lead in Group A of the Europa competition with nine points.
The Gunners will play Leeds United in the Premier League next with hopes of also staying on top of the standings. Bodo’s remarkable 14-match home winning streak in Europe is over, and they remain in third place. Their next league game is on the road against Valerenga.
