December 12, (THEWILL) – Royal Air Maroc, the national airline of Morocco, has scheduled 30 more round-trip flights to transport jubilant supporters to Qatar for Wednesday’s historic World Cup semifinal matchup against France.

On Saturday, Africa and the Arab world celebrated, as Morocco defeated Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal 1-0, to become the first African or Arab team to advance to a World Cup semi-final.

The North African country’s national carrier referred to it as a “historic qualification” and announced that jumbo planes would fly 30 return trips departing on Tuesday and Wednesday, in time for the game.

Their statement read: “In order to allow the many Moroccans wanting to support the national team at its peak and experience the emotion of the World Cup semi-final, Royal Air Maroc has set up an air bridge between Casablanca and Doha.”

In advance of Morocco’s match against Portugal, fans had earlier posted online complaints about delays at an overcrowded airport in Casablanca, the country’s commercial centre.
