Queen Ayo Balogun Fetes Guests At 65th Birthday

Queen of Juju music and President of the Association of Juju Musicians in Nigeria, Ayotunde Kofoworola Ogunlade, fondly called Queen Ayo Balogun rolled out the drums in celebration of her 65th birthday last week. The event which was attended by top entertainers, friends and family of the veteran musical was a success by miles. The celebrant who enjoys feasting and staging high octane shindig for her birthdays started a countdown to her big day a few days before the celebration.

She started with a lovely photo shoot amidst showering encomium on herself for the achievements she has recorded in her 65 years of existence. She also appreciated God for keeping her fit to still be able to thrill guests with her talent at 65. A hashtag, #Qab@65 was coined ahead of the event. The birthday gig took place at Coliseum Events Place on Admiralty way, Lekki, Lagos State. The dress code for the event was black tie or bow tie for the gents while ladies had on floor sweeping flamboyant ensembles.

Vibrant gospel artiste, Laolu Gbenjo, was on the band stage to titillate guests with soul lifting music that kept them on their feet for a couple of minutes without fatigue. Queen Ayo Balogun bagged a Diploma in music from London Royal School of music, she started out as a gospel musician before joining the Juju genre in the mid-nineties. She was tutored by Sunday Adeniyi Adegeye, also known as King Sunny Ade.

Her music career has spanned over three decades and she is the first female president of the Association of Juju musicians in Nigeria. The Juju queen has been happily married for almost two decades and blessed with children doing well in their field of endeavors. Aside from her singing career, she is also an entrepreneur. She is the Chief Executive Officer of Rooms Affairs, an outfit into bedding business.
