November 28, (THEWILL) – Africa’s representatives, Cameroon, rallied from two goals down to tie Serbia 3-3 to maintain the prospects of both teams moving on to the round of 16 of the Qatar World Cup.

The Indomitable Lions took the lead through Jean-Charles Castelletto, but Serbia quickly took control thanks to goals from Strahinja Pavlovic, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, and Aleksandar Mitrovic.

It was no good for the Indomitable Lions, especially after regular goalkeeper, Andre Onana, was reportedly sent on his way home after a dispute with coach Rigobert Song, over goalkeeping style and disciplinary issues.

Despite appearing to be in control, Dragan Stojkovic’s team was stunned by two goals in three second-half minutes, with substitute Vincent Aboubakar’s deft strike cutting the deficit before Eric Choupo-Moting levelled the score for Cameroon.

The last Group G encounter will have Cameroon playing Brazil, followed by Serbia playing Switzerland. Both teams are aware that a victory in their final game is required to go to the World Cup’s knockout round.
