December 05, (THEWILL) – In a decisive 4-1 victory over South Korea on Monday, at Stadium 974, Brazil put on its most sublime performance of Qatar 2022 so far, setting up a quarter-final match against Croatia.
The one-sided affair saw the Selecao go up by four goals in just 36 minutes for only the second time in their World Cup history ever.
Vinicius Junior opened the scoring before Neymar, making his way back into the starting lineup after their first group game, scored from the penalty spot to double the lead.
South Korea had no chance of recovering after goals from Richarlison and Lucas Paqueta, effectively put the game beyond their reach. However, they did have a moment to cherish thanks to Paik Seung-Ho’s goal in the second half.
South Korea’s campaign in Qatar is now over, while Brazil will prepare to take on Croatia, who defeated Japan earlier, in the quarterfinals on Friday, in Al Rayyan.
