Poverty, Inequality Behind Insecurity – Fayemi

May 23, (THEWILL) – Governor Kayode Fayemi, who is also a presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress platform, has identified poverty and inequality as some of the factors that have triggered insecurity in the country.

The presidential aspirant promised to ensure that every Nigerian has a sense of belonging as a way of taming the ugly trend for the good of all.

Addressing APC delegates at the Royal Choice Inn Makurdi, Fayemi urged them to vote a candidate who is capable of bringing development and restoring hope in Nigerians.

He said, “I will tackle insecurity by rejigging the security apparatus through training and recruitment of more personnel and improve on actionable intelligence. One issue i am going to invest my time in it, if voted is to focus on security challenge. By this, we will rejigged the entire security apparatus of the country by recruiting more personnel and train the existing ones”.

“We will also need to improve on actionable intelligence and using satellite and growth technology to tackle security challenges.

“Poverty and inequality triggered insecurity. We need to address all these and improve social investment in the people. We should also manage our diversity together every Nigerian will have sense of belonging.

The presidential hopeful said, APC must take steps to address reward system in the party so that monkey will not be working and baboon be eating.

“Let me therefore, charge delegates to look at the mission of what I have presented. Don’t look at how many million that we bring to the table but our commitment to democratic values and compassion. Whoever wins the APC primary will be president of the country.”
