February 08, (THEWILL) – Nigerian singer, Peter Okoye, better known as Mr P and Seun Kuti, have engaged in war of words over Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP).

Seun had asserted in an interview with “TheMicOnPodcast” that Nigerians alone can salvage the country, not any leader. He added that Peter Obi is an opportunist.

The musician suggested that even if the Labour Party’s presidential candidate won the election, he might not be able to rescue Nigeria from its current problems.

In response to Kuti’s claims, Mr P took to his Twitter to drag him, claiming he just erased his father’s history.

He further advised Kuti to manage his frustrations and comport himself.

He said, “Dude just erased his father’s history! You said only the people of Nigeria can save Nigeria! Is PO and the rest of the candidates, not the Nigerian people? Shame! Shame!! Shame!!! So disappointed.”

Mr P, in a series of posts on his Instagram story, continued to drag Seun over his statement on Peter Obi.

He said, “I understand your frustration but realise that the sky is big enough for all birds to fly.” @burnaboy and other great artistes have climbed on our great Fela’s ladder to blow. “Comport yourself and pray to your god.” My God has blessed my destiny, and I’ll forever be thankful. I’ll surely keep you in my prayers.

“Learn from your nephew, @Madekuti, because he is well-guided and clean.

Replying Okoye, Kuti stated that he would prefer they come out for a political debate instead of throwing shade at his family.

He added that the Okoye’s family have disgraced themselves online over money. Yet Mr P is using his nephew and late father to call him out.
