PDP Loses 3 More Senators To APC

June 30, (THEWILL) – Two senators belonging to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Zamfara State have now announced their defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Reading the letters of their defection at plenary on Wednesday, President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, listed the new defectors as Sahabi Alhaji Yau (Zamfara North) and Lawali Hassan Anka (Zamfara West).

The Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, Peter Nwaoboshi, also officially announced his defection from the PDP to the APC.

He had earlier resigned his membership of the PDP amid internal crisis between him and other members of the party in the state.

The Senator representing Zamfara Central, Hassan Mohammad Gusau, had resigned his membership of PDP via a letter addressed to the President of the Senate and read during the start of plenary on Tuesday.

Although Gusau did not announce his new party, Lawan on Wednesday informed his colleagues that the Senator, who resigned his membership of the PDP on Tuesday, has also joined APC.
