Osimhen’s Hattrick Helps Napoli To 4-0 Whipping Of Sassuolo

October 29, (THEWILL) – Napoli thrashed Sassuolo 4-0 on Saturday, to extend their unbeaten streak in Serie A to 16 games with Nigerian forward, Victor Osimhen, continuing his red-hot form with a hat-trick in the victory.

In the fourth minute, Osimhen gave Napoli the early lead by latching onto a pass from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and flicking it into the goal. The two combined again when the 23-year-old Nigerian connected to another pass from Kvaratskhelia and put the ball behind Sassuolo goalkeeper Andrea Consigli to double their lead.

Kvaratskhelia extended the carnage in the 36th minute, and Osimhen added his third goal by intercepting a sloppy Sassuolo pass and lobbing it over Consigli in the 77th minute of the one-sided Serie A fixture.

With 32 points from 12 games, Napoli leads the Serie A standings and they are in front of second-placed AC Milan, who play Torino on Sunday, by six points. Sassuolo has 15 points and is ninth.

Next for Napoli is an away game against Liverpool in the final Group A match of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday while Sassuolo are also away to Empoli in Serie A on Saturday.
