October 16, (THEWILL) – Victor Osimhen’s decisive 69th-minute goal in Napoli’s spirited 3-2 victory over Bologna on Sunday ensured that the I Partenopei maintained their two-point lead in Serie A.

After assisting his team in securing qualification to the Champions League last 16 in the previous week, the Nigerian again scored in Sunday’s fixture, his first league goal since August for Luciano Spalletti side to claim their 10th straight games in all competitions and keep their unbeaten run going.

They came up against a strong showing by Bologna at the Stadio Maradona, even without their star player Marko Arnautovic. Joshua Zirkzee gave the visitors an unexpected lead but the sides were level four minutes later when Juan Jesus scored his first goal of the year in the final minute of the half.

Hirving Lozano put the home ahead four minutes after play resumed but Bologna pulled level two minutes later through Musa Barrow only for Osimhen to ensure maximum points for the hosts after coming in from the bench.

Napoli are away to Roma for their next fixture next Sunday but before that Bologna will host Cagliari in the Coppa Italia on Thursday.
