January 29, (THEWILL) – Barcelona Femení demonstrated their dominance of the Primera Iberdrola on Sunday evening, when they whitewashed UDG Tenerife with a commanding 6-0 victory, with Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala scoring half of their goals.
The team’s 16th consecutive win was marked by goals from Claudia Pina, Aitana Bonmati, Lucy Bronze, and hat-trick heroine, Oshoala.
The match got off to a fast start with two goals in the first eight minutes and Oshoala adding two more just three minutes later. The Nigerian international completed her second consecutive hattrick three minutes before the half-hour mark, with Bonmati adding a fifth just before the break.
Barca continued their dominance after the restart, but they chose to ease up on their relentless attack with the three points securely in the bag. Despite this, the team still managed to extend their lead in second-half injury time with a goal from Bronze.
This victory marked the 100th appearance for Ana Crnogorcevic, their 51st consecutive League victory – an extension of their unprecedented record in the history of club football – and solidified Barca’s position as a dominant force in women’s soccer at home and abroad.
