November 20, (THEWILL) – After the break for international football, Barcelona Femini returned to winning ways, walloping Alavés 8-0 to make it nine victories in a row in La Liga F.
The return of Laia Codina and Bruna Vilamala, the teenage striker who played the final 20 minutes of the game after missing more than a year with a terrible injury, added to the goal fest as well as the Estadi Johan Cruyff.
It began with a seventh-minute by Claudia Pina, a left-footed into the far corner. Four minutes later, Asisat Oshoala scored the second and Fridolina Rölfo nutmegged Alaves’ Patri Larqué for the third goal.
Pina continued her stellar performance by converting a penalty to make it 4-0, and in her 200th game for Barça, Mapi León added a goal with a strong shot from outside the box to make it 5-0 at the break.
In the 56th minute, Salma Paralluelo scored Barca’s sixth and substitutes Ana Maria Crnogorcevic and Geyse added their names to the scoresheet to complete the lampooning. Now, Barca’s focus will turn to their next nine games spread over 31 days, the first of which is this Thursday at 6:45 p.m. at Spotify Camp Nou versus Bayern Munich.
