BEVERLY HILLS, April 26, (THEWILL) – The 93rd Oscar award ceremony which is one of the much awaited film industry events was finally held on Sunday, April 25 after months of delay due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Due to the strict Covid-19 guidelines, awardees were given their trophies at the Los Angeles Union Station.
The event which was a history-making one saw its first-ever woman of colour ‘Best Director’ win which was taken by ‘Nomadland’ director, Chloe Zhao. The film also won two other awards including ‘Best Picture’.
Popular British actor, Daniel Kaluuya won his first Oscar in the ‘Best Actor in a Supporting Role’ category for ‘Judas and the Black Messiah’ and Tunisia’s ‘The Man Who Sold His Skin ‘Best International Film Submission lost to Denmark’s ‘Another Round’.
