November 24, (THEWILL) – British Urban Film Festival (BUFF) 2021 has nominated movie producer and director, Obi Emelonye’s film, “Black Mail” in the Best Feature category.

Buff formed in July 2005 in the United Kingdom by Emmanuel Anyiam-Osigwe MBE, showcases urban independent cinema in the absence of any such state-sponsored activity in the UK.

It is the longest standing black-owned film festival and have been a pioneering platform for all facets of diversity since their formation in 2005.

Emelonye via an Instagram post shared the exciting news with the caption, “Black Mail is nominated as Best Feature Film at the 2021 BUFF.”

The movie was shot in the United Kingdom in 2020. An action thriller, the movie is about Chinda (O.C. Ukeje), a well-known London actor who becomes involved in a sextortion lawsuit launched against him by Igor, a criminal oligarch and digital fraudster.

Mistaken identity, webcam hacking, and threats of violence puts Chinda’s family at risk as he looks for the perpetrators.

No doubt this movie will do well in the cinemas just like some of Emelonye’s past movies like Last Flight to Abuja (2012), The Mirror Boy (2011), and Onye Ozi (2013).
