October 20, (THEWILL) – Wednesday’s English Premier League victory over West Ham gave Liverpool their second straight 1-0 victory in as many days.
Darwin Nunez’s first goal at Anfield for his new team via a first-half header was sufficient for Jurgen Klopp’s team to secure the victory.
Even though West Ham was outplayed for the majority of the game, they will be frustrated to come away empty-handed after Jarrod Bowen saw Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker save a penalty shortly before halftime, denying them the chance to pull level.
The visitors failed to find the crucial goal and Liverpool could not add to their tally before the final whistle. For David Moyes’ club, it brings to an end a streak of five games without a loss, while Liverpool built on their excellent win over Manchester City on Sunday.
In their next fixtures, the Reds are on the road as they travel to Nottingham Forest on Saturday, while the Hammers welcome Bournemouth to their London Stadium on Monday.
