September 26, (THEWILL) – Sunday Dare, the honourable Minister of Sports and Youth Development, has summoned a meeting of all 11 candidates vying for the presidency of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
As THEWILL previously reported, the election congress of the federation, which was scheduled Friday in Benin City, was last Thursday postponed by Justice Inyang Ekwo due to a matter brought before his court by the National Association of Nigeria Footballers (NANF).
All the candidates are expected to attend the meeting that is set to take place at the Minister’s office on Tuesday at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
The candidates for the NFF presidency include Seyi Akinwunmi, Shehu Dikko, Ibrahim Gusau, Musa Amadu, Christian Emeruwa, Idah Peterside, Adam Mouktar Mohammed, David Doherty, Suleiman Kwande, Amanze Uchegbulam and Abba Yola.
Only Amadu, Emeruwa, Peterside, Doherty, and Mohammed appeared at a tough presidential debate that ARISE NEWS Television organised for all of the candidates. Others who had earlier submitted texts saying they would attend the debate later sent messages saying they would not be able to.
