SAN FRANCISCO, November 30, (THEWILL) – Renowned afrobeats singer, Wizkid has made history by becoming the first Nigerian artiste to win the BET Soul Train Award twice.
Wizkid announced this feat on Monday on his social media page.
THEWILL writes that Brown Skin Girl by Beyoncé featuring Wizkid, Blue Ivy and Saint JHN which was shortlisted for the Video of the Year Award, was declared the winner.
THEWILL also reports that apart from Wizkid being the first Nigerian artiste to ever win the award, he is also the only Nigerian artiste to have won it two times in a row, back-to-back.
The Soul Train Music Awards is an annual show that honours the best in African-American culture music and entertainment.
