July 03, (THEWILL) – Ayo Balogun, professionally known as Wizkid, has stated that all he has for two of his colleagues, Damini Ogulu, aka Burna Boy and David Adeleke, also known as Davido, is love.
While performing at the 2022 Afronation music festival in Portugal on Saturday, the singer stunned the audience when he declared that he has nothing but love for his perceived rivals.
The trio are considered to be the biggest artistes in Nigeria in contemporary times, with their fans often divided over who is superior.
But during the show, Wizkid played down the rivalry between them. He also thanked fans for supporting them.
“I want to tell you tonight, Starboy, I gat love for Burna Boy, I gat love for Davido…and I want to thank you the fans for supporting us”, he said.
In March, Burna Boy had reignited the lingering superiority debate among them when he declared himself as the highest paid artiste in the history of African music.
His claim, however, did not sit well with many people, particularly fans of Davido and Wizkid.
But the singer insisted he is richer than the pair. He also tackled his critics.
“I don’t know why you think I’ll be joking when I said I am the highest paid, it’s not a joke, this is fact. Anyone wey e pain, go and get more money than me, work hard”, he stated.
“I do know how much everyone makes that’s why I’m saying that. And if they do any disrespect, I’ll expose them, I don’t care. Let’s get that clear, when I say combined, I’m not beating around the bush, everybody is included.”
