SAN FRANCISCO, September 23, (THEWILL) – Super Eagles and Leicester City midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, will not be available for Nigeria’s international friendly matches against Ivory Coast and Tunisia in Austria following the groin injury he sustained in the English Premier League on Sunday when Leicester City defeated Burnley 4 -2.
Toyin Ibitoye, the media officer of the Super Eagles, disclosed this on Wednesday, saying that the midfielder had already contacted Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr concerning his unavailability for the games.
“Ndidi is injured and will not make the trip to Austria for the friendly games against Ivory Coast and Tunisia. He has informed the coach and the federation about this latest development. We will miss him no doubt but then again this is an opportunity for the other players to rise to the occasion” Ibitoye said.
THEWILL reports that the midfielder will also not be available for tonight’s Carabao Cup third round clash against Arsenal.
