September 01, (THEWILL) – Leander Dendoncker has completed a transfer to Aston Villa from Wolverhampton Wanderers, raising the prospects that Douglas Luiz would join Arsenal before the transfer deadline.
Prior to the 2019–20 season, Dendoncker first transferred permanently from Anderlecht to Wolves, after initially joining on a loan. The 27-year-old, who has 29 caps for Belgium at the international level, had 12 goals in 159 games with Wolves in all competitions and is going to Villa Park for a sum of £13 million.
His arrival would indicate that Villa manager, Steven Gerrard, is willing to let Douglas Luiz sign for the Gunners..Multiple offers for the 24-year-old have apparently been rejected by the Gunners, who defeated Villa 2-1 on Wednesday, in the Premier League.
However, they are expected to make at least one more before the transfer market closes on Thursday.
