September 25, (THEWILL) – Leicester City came back twice to draw 2-2 with Burnley at the Kings Power Stadium on Saturday.

Burnley had Vardy to thank for their opener in the 12th minute when the striker went to head out an in-swinging Ashley Westwood corner only to glance his header past Kasper Schmeichel in the Leicester goal. It was just as much as Burnley deserved for their energetic start.

Vardy was able to atone for his own-goal seven minutes after the hour mark with a clever strike from just inside the box. Youri Tielemans picked out Vardy’s run with precision and the English forward did not have to break his run to score the equaliser.

Their celebrations were cut short as Burnley retook the lead three minutes later off a beaut of a goal scored by Maxwel Cornet. The Ivorian opened his account in the top flight with a stunning volley that beat Schmeichel.

With the second half extending and Leicester still behind, Brendan Rodgers introduced Iheanacho from the bench two minutes after the hour mark in place of Boubakary Soumare. A 70th-minute goal attempt from the Nigerian was blocked by a wall of Burnley shirts in the area as he sought to immediately make a mark.

Iheanacho continued to exert pressure on the Burnley back line. This paid off in the 85th minute when picked out Vsrdy’s run and delivered a perfect pass, leaving the 34-year-old with just the keeper to round and score into an open net.
