August 18, (THEWILL) – Nollywood actor, Dele Odule, has taken to social media to advice Nigerians ahead of the 2023 general elections.
He used a Yoruba mythology about the transition of Orunmila, one of the gods worshipped in Yoruba land, who was going on a pilgrim.
According to him, the children asked Orunmila when he is coming back and he revealed that he would never come back.
He advised them to choose their leader, as he is not going to make such decision for them.
The veteran movie practitioner revealed that the mythology shows that ‘godfatherism’ should not be encouraged in any society.
He added that every citizen has a right to choose his or her own leader without being influenced by godfathers.
He also stated that some opportunities cannot be regained once they are lost, hence people should be careful in making certain choices.
