May 24, (THEWILL) – There is serious outrage in the Ikot Andem Community in Ukanafun Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom state, following the killing of a youths’ leader, identified as Mr Ufot Job.

THEWILL reports that Job was killed on Monday, during the senatorial primaries of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), even as his motorcycle, which was given to him as an empowerment from a house member, was seized.

It was gathered that the armed hoodlums ambushed the deceased along the spur linking the Ekparakwa road and Ikot Udo Ossiom village.

“The late Job was riding on his motorcycle from his village, Ikot Andem, and was ambushed by gunmen suspected to be cultists, who opened fire on him and fled with his motorcycle, leaving his body in the pool of his blood”, a witness who identified himself as Akaniyene, told THEWILL.

According to him, “it was too late for him to be saved, because when neighbours arrived following the alarm raised by witnesses, he had lost too much blood from the gunshot wounds.”

A fellow youths’ leader, who spoke on condition of anonymity, explained that, “the matter had been reported to the Police for immediate investigation with a view to apprehending the suspects.”

The Police Public Relations Officer, Odiko Macdon, when contacted on phone, said he was attending a workshop, but requested that the message be routed through an SMS.

He, however, could not respond to the SMS till the time of filing this report.
