SAN FRANCISCO, December 07, (THEWILL) – With the UEFA Champions League round of 16 line-up now complete, here are the 16 teams that qualified for the round of last 16 after the completion of the group stage on Wednesday.
Group Winners are: Manchester United (ENG), Paris (FRA), Roma (ITA), Barcelona (ESP), Liverpool (ENG), Manchester City (ENG), Beşiktaş (TUR), Tottenham Hotspur (ENG).
Group runners-up are: Basel (SUI), Bayern München (GER), Chelsea (ENG), Juventus (ITA), Sevilla (ESP), Shakhtar (UKR), Porto (POR), Real Madrid (ESP).
The draw for last 16 takes place on Monday, December 11 at 1100 GMT. Teams from same country cannot play each other. Also, no team can play a club from their group.
Two seeding pots will be formed: one of group winners and one of runners-up.
Seeded group winners will be away in the round of 16 first legs on 13/14 and 20/21 February and at home in the return matches on 6/7 and 13/14 March.
Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo became the first player to score in all six Champions League group-stage matches in a season on Wednesday with a first-half strike for Real Madrid against Borussia Dortmund.
The 32-year-old’s effort that flew into the top corner also drew the Portuguese forward level with his Barcelona rival Lionel Messi on 60 group-stage goals in total. It was his ninth this season.
