BEVERLY HILLS, June 03, (THEWILL) – The micro-blogging platform, Twitter, for the second time in the week deleted a tweet posted on President Muhammadu Buhari’s account.
The body had said it acted after receiving complaints about Buhari’s post.
However, Twitter, again on Thursday evening, pressed the DELETE button and took down a video about the Nigerian President virtually repeating the same threats that saw him sanctioned initially, when he made what many termed a “genocidal” statement against the South-East.
An upset Nigerian government had on Wednesday condemned the platform for “double standards,” saying it had failed to deal the same treatment to inciting posts by pro-Biafra IPOB elements and its supporters.
However, the following day, Thursday, the platform took a video of Buhari making controversial statements about the 1967 civil war to the cleaners as well.
