BEVERLY HILLS, January 20, (THEWILL) – Over 100 people, including American rappers, Lil Wayne and Kodak Black, have been pardoned by President Donald Trump in his last full day of office as the president of the United States of America.

According to news reports, Lil Wayne, born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr, pleaded guilty for illegally having a loaded weapon on a private jet while travelling to Miami in December 2020.

Carter, who is a convicted felon for a gun charge in 2007, was looking at 10 years in prison when sentenced on January 28, 2021.

However, the pardon of the rapper did not come as a surprise to many as the Grammy award-winning artist had endorsed the re-election of Trump last October and he was heavily criticised for this on social media.

Carter had tweeted: “Just had a great meeting with @realdonaldtrump @potus besides what he has done so far with criminal reform, the platinum plan is going to give the community real ownership. He listened to what we had to say today and assured he will and can get it done.”

Also, Kodak Black, born Bill Kahan Kapri, is in jail after he pleaded guilty to firearms possession charges following his detention at the Canadian-American border in March 2020.

Trump also pardoned his former campaign manager Steve Bannon and former Detroit Mayor, Kwame Kilpatrick.
