BEVERLY HILLS, January 25, (THEWILL) – Popular American singer, Trey Songz, has been arrested by the police for trespassing, resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer.
According to TMZ, Songz is on a 24-hour hold and may be released tomorrow night.
The singer was found in the middle of a physical altercation with a police officer during the KC Chiefs’ game, and according to fans who witnessed the scuffle, the police officer went out of line.
A video obtained from Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday, at first, showed Songz and the officer in a struggle. The singer throws a punch at the officer’s head and gets him in a headlock, however, the officer puts Songz to a seat.
According to a witness, the incident began when the singer was being booed by some fans who were just a few rows behind him and he asked them to stop.
The officer had approached the singer, and without warning, confronted him and according to the witness, Songz was caught off guard when the officer got physical and he defended himself.

In the video, fans yelled at the officer, asking him to stay away from the singer until more officers arrived. The fans were still calling for the arrest of the officer when assistance came.
Once backup came, the officers separated the fight and put Songz in handcuffs.
As at the time of filing this report, the singer is still in custody, but it’s not clear if he’s being booked for anything or simply detained.
THEWILL writes that the singer’s representatives have not commented on the issue yet.
