Tottenham Defender Ben Davies Expects Ankle Injury To Take A ‘Couple Of Weeks’

Tottenham defender Ben Davies expects to miss the next few weeks with an ankle injury.

The left-back, who also plays on the left side of a back three for his country, suffered the knock during Spurs’ 1-0 Champions League defeat to Bayer Leverkusen and missed the 1-1 draw with rivals Arsenal on Sunday.

The problem forced him out of the Wales squad for Saturday’s World Cup Qualifier against Serbia and he admits he has work to do before he will be available again for Spurs boss, Mauricio Pochettino.

“It’s not too good at the moment, I’ve just got to get ready,” Davies said at the Football Association of Wales awards on Tuesday night where he took to the stage in a Moon Boot to protect his damaged ankle.

“It will be a good couple of weeks after this one to get back fit, so I’ve just got to work hard.”

Tottenham’s next Premier League games after the international break are London derbies against West Ham (home) and Chelsea (away), with a Champions League trip to Monaco in between.
