November 05, (THEWILL) – Leicester defeated Everton 2-0 in their late Saturday English Premier League fixture courtesy of outstanding goals from Youri Tielemans and Harvey Barnes in each half of the game.
It was another spectacular goal from the Belgian midfielder, who had previously produced an incredible effort against Wolves and an equally brilliant goal at Goodison Park.
Everton was careless throughout and paid for it in the dying minutes when a Leicester counter resulted in a second goal as Barnes beat Jordan Pickford with a powerful shot after some good work by James Maddison.
Everton’s Alex Iwobi and Dominic Calvert-Lewin both came close, but they were unable to get past a Leicester defence that had allowed only three goals in six Premier League games. Unfortunately, Calvert-Lewin was hauled off injured in the second half.
With both teams tied on 14 points, Leicester moves ahead of Everton into 13th place while Everton drops to 15th. In the third round of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday, Leicester will host League Two side, Newport County while Everton will play Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
