July 31, (THEWILL) – The Theatre Commander (TC) of the Joint Task Force North-East Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Major General Christopher Musa, has visited headquarters Sector 2 Area of responsibility in continuation of his familiarisation tour of sectors within the theatre of operations.
The visit that took place on Thursday 29th July 2021 was part of his operational activities to assess the combat readiness and preparedness of troops of the sector.
A statement by the Director Army Public Relations, Brig-General Onyema Nwachuku, said the Commander was accompanied on the visit by the Principal Staff Officer from the headquarters of the Theatre Command.
During the tour, the Theatre Commander urged the troops to remain focused, determined and more proactive in their operational engagements, in order to dominate the general area and deny insurgents freedom of action.
He inspected the newly-constructed barracks accommodation for officers and soldiers at 233 battalion, as well as the field ambulance established to cater for the medical needs of troops.
The Commander also held a town hall meeting with some security stakeholders, including members of the Civilian Joint Task Force, Vigilantes, Hunters, Peace Corps officials, as well as members of the Yobe State National Union of Road Transport Workers.
The interaction afforded the theatre and the stakeholders a veritable platform to analyse issues of security interests and to evaluate the conduct of the various groups and union, as it affects the ongoing counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations in the theatre.
He urged all to be sincere in their activities and endeavour to expose identified moles within their organisations.
