Terrorists Kill Five Hunters, Abduct Travellers In Niger

November 02, (THEWILL) – At least five local hunters have been killed and several others injured Tuesday, after they were ambushed by gunmen, suspected to be members of Boko Haram.

The terrorists were said to have ambushed the hunters who were responding to a distress call.

The terrorists reportedly blocked the ever busy Minna-Kontagora highway and abducted scores of travellers at Garin Gabas in Rafi local government area of the state.

A local source close to the town, said the terrorists came in with over 40 motorcycles and took over the highway.

The source said the number of passengers abducted could not be ascertained, as over five vehicles were stopped and their passengers taken away.

Both the government and the state police command are yet to issue a statement on the incident.
