May 07, (THEWILL) – The Governor of Sokoto state and Presidential aspirant under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately sack the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele.
Tambuwal, who said this in Jalingo on Saturday, shortly after interacting with party delegates ahead of the presidential primaries, stressed that by openly identifying with a political party, Emefiele’s continued stay in office is dangerous for the country.
Tambuwal, overwhelmed by the warm reception and confidence that the delegates in the state gave, expressed satisfaction in the Darius Ishaku led administration for holding the party’s flag high in the state through provision of massive infrastructure and maintaining relative peace in the state.
Speaking on the consensus arrangement, Gov Tambuwal stated that he will gladly accept the consensus of the party for the presidential slot, if it is done with all fairness.
Governor Darius Ishaku on his part said that the country needs a competent leader, who would harness the abundant resources of the state and ensure the security of lives and property of the people.
Ishaku further called on politicians to play the game so that law and order will be maintained across the country.
