BEVERLY HILLS, April 29, (THEWILL) – Popular American rapper, Faheem Rasheed Najm, professionally called T-Pain, has apologised for “accidentally” ignoring direct messages (DM) on Instagram from multiple of international entertainers, including DJ Cuppy, Mayorkun, Fergie, and Juliet Ibrahim.
THEWILL writes that just like Facebook, Instagram also has a section for messages from unknown accounts you don’t interact with and since the video-sharing site’s “message requests” don’t show notifications, they may not be noticed for a long time.
On Thursday, T-Pain took to his social media account to share a video of the “requests” folder from his Instagram account, explaining that that he had lost sight of the messages from celebrities who tried to reach him for up to two years.
He said: “… I found out about the request folder on Instagram that’s full of celebs trying to reach me. Dude, Is that Fergie? Smh. I’ve been accidentally ignoring all these people for like two years.
“I thought DMs were supposed to just show up in their normal folders and you don’t have to go digging for all these. I apologise to everyone on this list hundreds of others I couldn’t fit in this video. Yup, I’m stupid.”
In the video, the rapper makes a defeated face as he shook his head in bewilderment realising how many people he had ignored.
In the caption, he added: “I swear! I’m just now seeing all these messages and mentions TODAY! How do I super apologize? Press conference? Townhall meeting? I’m dumb.”
Also on the list of people T-Pain ignored are Diplo, Keri Hilson, Viola Davis, Nate Robinson, and YBN Nahmir.
