BEVERLY HILLS, May 12, (THEWILL) – Veteran Nigerian singer, Olanrewaju Fasasi, better known as Sound Sultan, Is presently battling throat cancer in the US, according to a report.
According to Sahara Reporters, the singer was flown out of Nigeria to begin chemotherapy following his diagnosis.
Sound Sultan’s career in show business began in the 90s when he did shows to raise money for studio sessions.
In 1999, the singer had won numerous local talent-hunt shows and he released his hit single ‘Jagbajantis’ in 2000.
He independently released other singles and featuring in the hits of other singers, before he was signed on by Kennis Music.
In Kennis Music, Sound Sultan put out four albums and his contract with the label expired in 2007.
He partnered with Baba Dee to start Naija Ninjas, a parent organisation for a record label, production outfit, and clothing line.
