December 03, (THEWILL) – Tottenham Hotspur beat Brentford 2-0, with Son Heung-Min scoring one goal and assisting on another in the Thursday fixture at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in north London.

After 12 minutes, the South Korean forward sent a superb cross from the left flank, with Spurs’ fortunes turning in their advantage when Pontus Jansson’s header bounced off Sergi Canos and into the net for an own goal.

Spurs could have extended their lead either side of half-time. First, Son forced a fantastic diving save from long range and Harry Kane saw a one-on-one shot blocked by Alvaro Fernandez.

The next goal came midway through the second half, when Kane released Sergio Reguilon on the left flank behind the Brentford defence, and he squared for Son to tap home from six yards to make a comeback difficult for the visitors.

Brentford had a few threats with long throws from Charlie Goode, but they never seemed like they were going to get anything out of the game before the final whistle confirmed it.

Antonio Conte’s side moved up to sixth place in the table as a result of the win, immediately behind their north London rivals Arsenal.
