August 29, (THEWILL) – Moses Simon put on an impressive showing for Nantes as they defeated Toulouse 3-1 thanks to a goal and an assist from the Nigerian showmaster.
Nantes had lost to Marseille the previous week, and as the team strove to put the disappointment behind them, they were fortunate to come up against recently promoted team Toulouse. But, they were stung when early in the game, Toulouse’s Zakaria Aboukhlal scored, putting the Yellow Canaries on the back foot.
Simon became the mastermind of Nantes’ recovery add he was behind their all-out attack of the second half. Evann Guessand’s goal for Nantes in the 50th minute, which brought the score back to parity, came off an assist from the Super Eagles striker.
Five minutes later, Mostafa Mohamed made it 2-1 for Nantes. The comeback was then sealed by Moses, whose goal one minute after the hour mark ensured that the hosts took maximum points with the final score being 3-1 at the Stade de la Beaujoire.
On Wednesday, Toulouse will face an even trickier task when they line up against the firepower of Ligue 1 leading free-scoring trio of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar when they face PSG while Nantes travel to Strasbourg on the same day.
