November 26, (THEWILL) – Sergio Ramos, the former Real Madrid star defender, could make his long-awaited debut for Paris Saint-Germain this weekend after being out for the first few months of the season due to a muscle issue that has plagued him since the summer.
The injury was reportedly known to PSG from the moment they recruited the centre-back on a free transfer from Real Madrid. It has, however, lingered far longer than Ramos and PSG would have wished.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side, on the other hand, might use some defensive inspiration after conceding in each of their last five games with barbed criticism beginning to pour in especially after PSG’s Champions League loss to Manchester City midweek, a result that ensured the Parisiens’ finished in second place.
Prior to that match, Ramos returned to the PSG matchday squad, although he was unable to break into the starting lineup. But, he is expected to play this weekend against AS Saint-Etienne.
Pochettino is strongly contemplating playing Ramos as he hunts for remedies to his porous defence and the centre-back is reported to be in good enough shape to take on the challenge, which means the long-anticipated debut is finally coming to pass.
