BEVERLY HILLS, October 10, (THEWILL) – The Senate has sworn in Ahmad Babba Kaita and Lawan Yahaya Gumau as members representing Katsina-North and Bauchi-South Senatorial Districts, respectively.
The Clerk to the Senate, Nelson Ayewo, supervised the oath-taking ceremony for the new senators, which lasted about 10 minutes at the opening of the session on Wednesday.
Kaita and Gumau had won the by-elections conducted in August by the Independent National Electoral Commission following the deaths of the former representatives of the districts.
The duo replaced Senators Mustapha Bukar (Katsina-North) and Ali Wakili (Bauchi-South) who had died at different times earlier in the year.
