SAN FRANCISCO, November 08, (THEWILL) – The Nigerian Senate has adjourned its plenary on Thursday to allow the senators attend the African Parliamentary Union (APU) conference in Abuja.
Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, presided over the day’s plenary in the absence of Senate President Bukola Saraki who is already at the meeting.
Earlier, he led the principal officers into the chambers and took the official prayers before the day’s proceedings started at 11:02am.
Senator Bukar Ibrahim moved for the approval of votes and proceedings of Wednesday, a proposal which was seconded by Senator Suleiman Nazif.
Thereafter, the Senate Leader, Ahmed Lawan, moved that all other items on the order paper be stood down to another legislative day.
The Minority Leader seconded to this and the plenary was adjourned till Tuesday, November 13.
