The second case of coronavirus in the US has been confirmed in Chicago — as health officials continue to examine 63 patients in 22 states, according to reports.
The latest confirmed case involves a 60-year-old woman who returned from Wuhan, China, on Jan. 13 and began experiencing symptoms a few days later, CNBC reported.
She was admitted to a hospital and placed in isolation while tests confirmed the virus. She is currently doing well and is in stable condition.
“CDC believes the immediate risk to the US public is low at this time, but the situation is evolving rapidly,” Dr. Nancy Messonnier, director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, said on a conference call with reporters Friday.
