The match was graced by representatives of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), and the special guest and former international, Friday ‘Zico’ Ekpo.

The tournament winners took home N2 million, while the first runner-up took home N1.5 million.

The second runner-up, the Federal Inland Revenue Service Football Club (FIRS FC), took home N1 million, while the fourth-placed team took home with N500,000.

In his address, the CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele (CON) who was represented by Samuel Okogbue said since its inception in 1979, the AFIFC Cup has become a significant tournament among financial institutions in Nigeria.

He said the bank remains committed to making positive contributions towards the promotion and development of football and other sporting competitions.

In his remark, former international Friday Ekpo said the level of competition was high, adding that the competition is a good breeding ground for discovering talents and boosting sports development in the country
